Connor’s Senior Photos – Moscow Class of 2014

Connor is a senior from the class of 2014 at Moscow High School, we met up in Coeur d’Alene to work together on his senior photos. Since music is such a big part of his life he spent a lot of time during out session with his guitar in his hands.

On our way between locations we came across a great lemonade stand and I could not resist asking permission to take a few portraits with the stand and the young entrepreneur running it.

We finished up with some colorful sunset shots by Lake Coeur d’Alene.

June Bobble Head Portraits

When you use a wide angle lens, like my Canon 17-40, you have to pay close attention to the distortion that is created when you shoot the lens at the wider settings. The distortion is especially prominent when you shoot with a full frame camera body like the Canon 5D III. It is usually recommended that you try to avoid the distortion, especially when taking portraits but instead I have decided to start embracing it to make some fun, intentionally goofy portraits during my senior photo sessions. I have been calling these portraits my “Bobble Head Portraits”, the reason will be blatantly obvious as you view the photos!

The main goal of my senior sessions is to make sure that my clients look great, an important part of achieving that goal is to make sure that we always have a fun time working together and these Bobble Head Portraits are sure to bring a laugh or two. Here are the Bobble Head Portraits from my June senior photo sessions.

2013 IEL Regional Track Meet

There were some great performances at the 2013 IEL Regional Track Meet but what I remember the most is how hot it was. It was in the mid 90’s all day with no shade to be found on the field until late in the evening. 2013 Christina Finney Track Meet (Post Falls Photographer)

he 2013 Christina Finney Co-Ed Relays at Post Falls High School included hosted teams from Timberlake, Lakeland, Moscow, Sandpoint, Coeur d’Alene, Lake City and Lewiston. One of the hard things about covering a track meet is that the events are often spread far apart so it is impossible for one person to be at every event. For this meet I spent some time at the shot put and discus rings and went back and forth between the track events and the high jump pit. I also grabbed a few pole vault shots on my travels between the throws area and the track.

4A Championship – 2013 Idaho Boys State Basketball Tournament

The Rigby Trojans came to the 2013 Idaho Boys State Basketball Tournament seeking to win a back to back state Championship. The Moscow bears were determined to not let that happen. Moscow came up just two points short of the upset as Rigby repeated as State Champion 45-43. Hyrum Prestwich and Clayton Iglinsky both contributed 14 to the victory and Moscow was led by Dane Randall with 11 and Nick Ellison with 10.
