We lucked out with a rare partly sunny January day for this fun family portrait shoot near Newport. The bright sun and highly reflective snow creates it’s share of photographic challenges but the rewards can be so much fun!
For the first time I had the pleasure of covering the spirit games between Lakeland high School and Post Falls High School called The Prairie Pig. After all the events of the evening it was the Lakeland Hawks that took home the final prize. For the third year in a row I was able to make it to the Battle of the Buck spirit games between Priest River High School and Timberlake High School. This time around I decided to cover the event a little different than normal. With all of the activity of the crowd and the fun of the different competitions I decided to photograph the event with the intention of putting together a stop motion style video. In all I used over 7,000 photos to make a video a little less than 10 minutes long. I would not normally produce a video of this nature that was more than 4 or 5 minutes long, but since I was producing this to record the entire event for those that took part I decided not to cut it down.

The Coeur d’Alene Viking hosted the Lewistion Bengals last night at Jordan Court, I was on hand to photograph the Girls JV and both Varsity games as well as both dance performances at half time or the varsity games. Seniors Caelyn (Goose) Orlandi, Kendalyn Brainard and Carli Williams were celebrated last night as it was the last regular season home game of the season.
Last night I traveled to Rathdrum to photograph the three basketball games between the Lakeland Hawks and Sandpoint Bulldogs. It was the last regular season home game for the Girls so seniors Dakota St. Mark, Lena Pote, Jordan Ward, Josie Coder and Kacie Derby were honored for senior night.

Last night the Sandpoint Girls Basketball teams hosted their last regular season home games for the year as they hosted the Tigers from Timberlake High School. As is tradition the last regular season home game is Senior Night, last night Sandpoint celebrated their lone senior Jordan Speelmon.
As part of the celebration the entire team, including coach Bill Bender, sported custom made Jordan #22 headbands!
Last night it was time once again for the annual Moose Madness spirit games between Sandpoint High School and Bonners Ferry High School. This event features a variety of different competitions and one of the few things that is taken into consideration for the winning school is the score of the two basketball games that serve as the backdrop of the games. After the scores of the dance team, cheer leading fan spirit, stop and moose call competitions were tallied it was Bonners Ferry that was able to hold up the moose antlers in victory. Last night I attended my first basketball games of the new year as the Moscow Bears traveled to Coeur d’Alene to take on the Lake City Timberwolves. I covered all three boys games.
