This year the 2015 Idaho State Softball Tournament for the 3A, 4A and 5A divisions were held in North Idaho which was a tremendous blessing for me. Most of the time I have to either decide between skipping a state tournament or making the trip to the Boise area taking me away from home for the good part of a week so every time there is a state tournament held close to home it makes my entire family happy!
I shot the tournament with two Canon 1DX bodies, for the action I had used a 300mm 2.8 and a 70-200 f2.8 II, for some of the post game celebrations and awards I swapped out the 300mm for a 14mm f2.8. The 1DX bodies take up to 12 frames a second so to take advantage of the thousands of quickly shot images in sequence I have put together a stop motion style video that features most of the images I shot in the horizontal position, vertical crops don’t translate well to the aspect ratio of video so those were discarded for the video. The video is below, followed by a selection of still images from the weekend.
